Washington Capitals re-sign forward Carl Hagelin

Yesterday Washington Capitals sent Matt Niskanen to the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman Radko Gudas. The move was probably made to get some more cap space, and today the Caps needed just that. They announced the re-sining of Swedish forward Carl Hagelin to a new four-year deal. The contract extension is worth $ 11 Million, with a cap hit of $ 2.75 Million AAV.

The 30-year old Carl Hagelin was traded twice last season but ended up in Washington. In 58 games for Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings and Washington Capitals he collected 19 points.
