8:53 pm ET: Toronto Maple Leafs select Rodion Amirov with the 15th overall pick.

8:45 pm ET: Edmonton Oilers select Dylan Holloway with the 14th overall pick.

8:39 pm ET: Carolina Hurricanes select Seth Jarvis with the 13th overall pick.

8:34 pm ET: Florida Panthers select Anton Lundell with the 12th overall pick. A player who is mature and had 28 points in 44 games last season in Finland.

8:29 pm ET: Nashville Predators select Yaroslav Askarov with the 11th overall pick. Of course, the Predators pick the best goaltenders in the draft. One of the best goalie prospects the last decade.

8:20 pm ET: Winnipeg Jets select Cole Perfetti with the 10th overall pick. A very solid player to get at number 10.

8:14 pm ET: Minnesota Wild select Marco Rossi with the 9th overall pick. A smaller C, but with great hockey IQ and a great scorer.

8:08 pm ET: Buffalo Sabres select Jack Quinn with the 8th overall pick. One of the best scorers in this year’s draft.

8:02 pm ET: New Jersey Devils select Alexander Holtz with the 7th overall pick. The second Swedish forward drafted, and a player who can step in right away and help the Devils.

7:54 pm ET: Anaheim Ducks select Jamie Drysdale with the 6th overall pick. Many scouts felt Drysdale was the best defenseman in this year’s draft, so the Ducks fans can be very happy with this pick.

7:47 pm ET: Ottawa Senators select Jake Sanderson with the 5th overall pick. Solid defenseman and a great two-way player.

7:40 pm ET: Detroit Red Wings select Lucas Raymond with the 4th overall pick. A bit of a surprise here, was projected as a top 10 pick, but maybe not 4th overall.

7:27 pm ET: Los Angeles Kings select Quinton Byfield with the 2nd overall pick.

Ottawa Senators select Tim Stutzle with the 3rd overall pick.

7:24 pm ET: Buffalo News reports the Sabres 8th overall pick is in play and could be traded.

7:21 pm ET: Both Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs have interest in signing unrestricted free agent Wayne Simmonds, according to TSN.

7:20 pm ET: New York Rangers select Alexis Lafreniere 1st overall, no surprise, best player in the draft and it is not even close. He can do it all, and will step in to a prominent role with the Rangers in 2020.

6:45 pm ET: Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin doesn’t expect to trade his first rounder, 16th overall, according to Renaud Lavoie.

6:23 pm ET: New York Rangers could trade their 22nd overall pick to a team that could offer two second rounders in return, according to Larry Brooks.

6:15 pm ET: Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Brenden Dillon to a new 4-year contract with an AAV of $ 3.9 million.

6:10 pm ET: Ottawa Senators will pick Tim Stutzle 3rd overall, if he is still available, according to Ottawa Sun’s insider Bruce Garrioch. Big day today for the Sens.

6 pm ET: One hour until the draft. The first big trade of the day was Canadiens send Max Domi, 3rd rounder (78th overall in 2020) to Columbus for Josh Anderson.

Anderson has been on the trade block for some time, and the Habs liked his power forward potential. Both are restricted free agents, but have recieved qualifying offers.
