Montreal Canadiens trade Max Domi to the Blue Jackets for Josh Anderson

The first big trade of draft day was deal between Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets. Max Domi was sent to Columbus for Josh Anderson, but the Blue Jackets also recieved a 3rd round pick from the Habs. It will be the 78th pick in this year’s draft.

Both forwards are restricted free agents and recieved qualifying offers before the deal, which means the offers will carry over to their new teams.

Josh Anderson has been on the trade block for some time, and to get Anderson the Canadiens had to include a draft pick to sweeten the deal.

Domi has shown some decline, and in 2019-20 he collected 17 goals, 44 points in 71 games. Anderson has battled injuries lately and only played 26 games last season due to a shoulder injury. He should however be ready to go, when the 2020-21 season starts.
