Swiss goaltender Jonas Hiller is in the last year of his contract, and the last couple of months there have been much speculations if the Anaheim Ducks general manager Bob Murray will trade him. 31-year-old Hiller has a cap hit of $ 4.5 million this season.
ESPN Insider Pierre Lebrun now says that Anaheim Ducks and general manager Bob Murray will keep Hiller the entire season, and will go with him in the playoffs. If the team doesn’t re-sign him he will become an unrestricted free agent next July, and also one of the most interesting players on the open market.
This season Hiller has played 32 games, with a GAA of 2.34 and SVS% of .914. He was never drafted and signed instead with the Ducks as a free agent.
